"Bids for Kids" and the Classic Golf and Tennis Tournament are Big Hits!

The Ronald McDonald House of the Twin Cities recently completed two very successful events! On July 24th, FM107.1, in partnership with Schneiderman's Furniture, broadcasted their 2nd Annual "Bids for Kids" fundraiser supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities, Upper Midwest. The radio-a-thon included a fantastic live auction, as well as several heart-felt stories from families who have experienced our Ronald McDonald House. The event generated an impressive $42,345.52 for "The House That Love Built." A special thanks to Hubbard Broadcasting and all who made this special radio event a huge success!

August 4th marked the Ronald McDonald House Classic Golf and Tennis Tournament. A newly-added Celebrity Doubles Tennis Tournament was added to the 18th annual Golf Tournament to create a one-of-a-kind summer event! Nearly 200 people participated in the days festivities and raised over $80,000 for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House. Mark your calendars for next year's event on August 3, 2009! Keeping Families Together and Strong
Since 1979 Ronald McDonald House Charities, Upper Midwest, and our cornerstone program, Ronald McDonald House of the Twin Cities, have provided a home-away-from-home for families whose children are receiving medical treatment in the Twin Cities for cancer or other life-threatening illnesses. In addition to providing lodging for 48 families on any given night, innovative programs create a sense of community and encouragement for these families facing critical pediatric illness. Ronald McDonald House Charities, Upper Midwest also extends support to children and families who do not live at the Ronald McDonald House though various outreach programs.
